Artifact #5 TRHS ETIL Survey
This year our PLC Technology Group talked in great detail about the need to gather information from our staff on a variety of our technical concerns.
We wanted to gather data to compare with our results from our 2008 survey to measure our growth (in terms of staff technology knowledge and useage).
We have never asked for feedback on our customer service skills and wanted to give our staff the ability to let us know how we are doing in terms of effectiveness and approachability.
In terms of training, we wanted to know what people liked from this year and what other needs they had for future trainings.
I worked very closely with Paula Busey, Donna Hoffner and Kim Harhigh to develop the survey so that it included both ET (educational technology) and IL (Information Literacy) questions. We also wanted to ask some of the same questions from the 2008 survey in order to be able to compare data. In order to make it an easily accessible survey, we created it using a Google Form.
After developing the survey, we presented it to our Technology Integration Committee. The committee then talked to their departments about the survey during a PLC day (April 20th) and administered it on that day. We are currently in the process of compiling the data. From what I have seen by looking through the data, I feel like we are doing a great job as it looks like most of our staff feel very comfortable using multiple technologies. I am also really pleased personally at the feedback from staff about my customer service responses. The only thing I would like to change in the future is to develop different surveys for different groups of people (ie Administration, counselors, etc).
I am submitting a link to the survey results as an artifact. (I would have liked to have submitted the survey, but I gave ownership of the google form to Katy Saville and no longer have the ability to get the live link.)
